I met Bravo while taking my artist statement portrait the other day. Having his morning walk, he changed his path to see what it was I was up to. We instantly became friends and was very eager to be a part of this project of mine. Which lead me to ask him - “How is it that this isolation can bring people / artist closer together?”

“Let me talk about “connection” first. To me, this represents the creative spirit of the incredible artist community that now defines LA culture, always seeking to use art and media to build connection, community and help people heal from trauma. Learn more over the weeks ahead about how a group of us are bringing artists together to not only help us connect, but to mobilize. So now, in regards to the latter- if any of you think this an isolated incident, wake up. This is a warning sign about climate crisis. These viruses are spreading from the animal kingdom to humans as deforestation forces animals that have lost their habitat to live amongst encroaching humans. It’s their evolutionary survival mechanism to kill off an invading species- us. It’s their only defense against a species hellbent on eradicating their natural habitat. So when this virus is over- and it will get contained- there will be more. And they will be worse. And if we don’t act now to stop global climate crisis, it will be too late later. Meanwhile, let’s build the online communities we will need to stay mobilized in the next lockdown. And the next. And the next. Unless we stop this madness now.” - Bravo | @everybodygetsshotinla
