BLM X Making Waves
Throughout the last month, even in the face of a global pandemic, Americans across the country have stood up to make waves and shed light to, what we have seen to be, the blatant racism and police brutality that still exists in our country today. Unfaltering and determined to spread the message that, until there is justice, there will absolutely be no peace, we must refuse to take our foot off the gas until actual changes have been made to the economic and societal systems in this country. The progress that has been made towards diminishing social injustice is just a drop in the bucket compared to the flood of information and stories that continue to circulate proving that we still have a long, long way to go.
You may have noticed that over the last month I have been a bit more distant from social media and have taken a step back from posting Making Waves front porch sessions. This is because as the movement was set in motion, I felt like the best way for me to do my part was to participate in and document the protests, while listening and learning from the voices that needed (and still need) to be heard. In an effort to ensure that these voices are not only heard, but amplified, Iād like to formally introduce to you the first features from the BLM x Making Waves series.
